Is a wife obligated to obey her husband if he forbids her from communicating with her brother's second wife, from returning her greetings, and from being in the same place as her, knowing that she does not cause problems?

A wife must obey her husband in what is right and lawful. It is not permissible for him to command her to abandon a Muslim woman unjustly, because this is an act of disobedience, and there is no obedience to a creature in an act of disobedience, whether the command is to boycott her or block her on social media. Scholars have differed on the extent of a wife's obligation to obey her husband in every permissible matter. Some are of the view that she must obey him in every permissible thing he commands her to do, while others have restricted obedience to matters of marriage and its related aspects. In all cases, she is not obligated to obey him in an act of disobedience. Therefore, the wife can greet and speak with the aforementioned woman without overtly disobeying her husband, and she can apologize to her if that would mend her feelings.
