What is the difference between Elias and Idris, bearing in mind that the number of messengers mentioned in the Quran is 25, and it is said that they are 24 messengers because Elias is Idris?

Allah the Almighty mentioned Elijah (Ilyas) and Enoch (Idris), peace be upon them, in the Holy Qur’an. Some scholars were of the view that they are one and the same prophet, and they used the Hadith of Al-Isra’ (the Night Journey) as evidence. However, Ibn Kathir favored the opinion that they are two different prophets. What is required is to believe in both of them, whether they are one or two, and knowing this does not entail any action.
