Who is Al-Yasa' (peace be upon him)?

Elisha, peace be upon him, was a prophet from the Children of Israel, from the lineage of Joseph, peace be upon him. He is mentioned twice in the Quran. It is said that he was raised by Elijah, peace be upon him, and succeeded him among his people. He called them to Allah, adhering to Elijah's methodology and law. It is narrated that he was supported by miracles such as raising the dead and healing the blind and the leper. A Muslim must believe in what is authentically reported about the prophets and should not trust weak narrations or Isra'iliyyat (reports from Jewish traditions) unless they conform to the Quran and Sunnah.
