Why do we find the Japanese, who are often pagans or atheists, to be more moral and advanced than Muslims, even though Muslims are closer to Allah?

If Muslim countries adhered to Islam as a methodology and conduct, they would be among the advanced nations. Islam does not claim that non-Muslims are backward; rather, it acknowledges their knowledge of worldly affairs and some of their good morals, and worldly success is not exclusive to Muslims.

Success in this world and the Hereafter is linked to a comprehensive understanding of Islam and adherence to it. Worldly success is attained through striving and taking the necessary means. Muslims lived golden ages that were beacons of knowledge and progress, from which European civilizations drew inspiration. Nevertheless, progress and backwardness are relative, and many Muslim countries have achieved high levels of peace and security, while non-Muslim countries suffer from high rates of crime and corruption.
