Why has the methodology of the Islamic religion not enabled its adherents to advance and propel them into paths of progress and prosperity in various fields, like other peoples and nations?

The methodology of Islam elevated its adherents to progress and prosperity, and its goal is to build a righteous individual, family, and nation. Islam is a mercy to the worlds, aiming to bring all that benefits them and minimize what corrupts them. Its laws are intended for the happiness of the individual and the community in this life and after death. If Muslims had adhered to their religion, they would have been at the forefront of nations, and indeed they dominated the world for centuries, for in the Quran is their honor and mention. However, their decline occurred when they failed to firmly grasp the religion and remain steadfast upon Allah's command. The fault is not in the methodology of Islam, but in Muslims themselves, and when they return to righteousness, their glory will return.
