Is it permissible to work as a translator of news (sports, political, or otherwise) in newspapers and on news websites, and what are the restrictions on the translated content?

The basic principle regarding translation is permissibility. It is permissible to translate political or sports news as long as it is free from forbidden content. As for articles promoting atheism or stories of immorality, it is not permissible to translate them except for the purpose of refuting them.
