The answer

The person afflicted with continuous discharge (sals) is not required to abstain from food and drink for fear of harm. However, if abstaining from certain foods and drinks stops the continuous flatus discharge, then they should be avoided, provided no harm results from doing so. This is in consideration of the opinion of those who stipulated the possibility of treating the continuous discharge for it to be considered a nullifier of ablution.

Scholars have stated that continuous discharge nullifies ablution if it can be remedied by medication, or a fast that is not difficult, or marriage. The time spent in seeking treatment, engagement, and purchasing (remedies) is excused. Any continuous discharge that can be remedied is considered a nullifier. Treatment becomes obligatory if possible, with its duration being excused. This does not mean reducing food and drink to the point of harm or hardship, but rather to the extent of treatment without harming the body.
