What is the Islamic legal ruling on a wife seeking divorce from a husband who abandons her for the most trivial reasons, refrains from speaking for long months, and only returns upon her appeasement, when this abandonment has recurred in a manner that affects her dignity?

Respect and trust are the foundation of married life. Allah has described spouses as garments for each other. A husband's abandonment of his wife is Islamically restricted to cases of her recalcitrance (nushuz) and subject to specific guidelines. It is not permissible for him to abandon her without her recalcitrance, or for a duration that harms her; otherwise, she has the right to seek divorce due to harm. Divorce should not be resorted to unless its benefit outweighs other considerations, and patience and reconciliation are preferable. A woman has her independent financial responsibility, and she can dispose of her money as she wishes. Her husband has no right to impose his opinion on her or to abandon her because of how she manages her money. She is not Islamically obligated to seek his forgiveness if she has not fallen short in his rights, but pleasing him, seeking Allah's pleasure, carries a great reward.
