How can a woman who has been married for 14 years and has 3 children, whose husband drinks alcohol outside the home, does not pray, returns late, and threatens to marry another, deal with her situation in Bahrain where she does not have a residency visa and her documents are constantly being lost?

This husband has accumulated great evils by abandoning prayer and consuming alcohol. Abandoning prayer is considered disbelief (kufr) according to the preponderant opinion, and if he prays sometimes and abandons it sometimes, scholars differ regarding his disbelief. He must be advised and reminded of Allah. If his condition does not improve, we advise against remaining with him and suggest taking the matter to court to remove the harm; for your continued stay with him is a danger to yourself and your children, and Allah will compensate you with someone better than him.
