What is the ruling on a production engineer in a fruit production company using large quantities of wine to track an insect harmful to crops?

Intoxicating wine is khamr (intoxicant), and it is forbidden to buy, carry, or benefit from khamr. It is obligatory to avoid and pour it out, because Allah Almighty says: (O you who have believed, indeed intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone altars [to other than Allah], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful). The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed ten categories of people concerning khamr, among them its carrier and its buyer. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered that khamr be poured out and not be converted into vinegar. It is forbidden to benefit from it, even for medical treatment or watering animals, and it is not permissible except in cases of extreme necessity. What was mentioned about combating insects is not a necessity that permits buying or carrying it.
