Is it permissible for me to accept Zakat al-Fitr, and what should I do with it if I am not among those eligible to receive it?

If your wealth is insufficient to cover your expenses for food, clothing, housing, and other necessities, then you are poor or needy, and it is permissible for you to receive Zakat al-Fitr. The recipients of Zakat al-Fitr are only the poor and the needy. If you are not poor or needy, it is not permissible for you to take Zakat al-Fitr, and you must inform the person who gave it to you that you are not among those entitled to receive it.
