What is the ruling on money obtained from patients in exchange for using an X-ray machine whose image is often unclear, and what is incumbent upon doctors in this regard?
It is not permissible to use this device for patients, as it does not detect the intended illness, and this is considered cheating. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever cheats is not of me." Those working with the device must explain its dangers to its owner, for it involves deception, exposing people's lives to danger, and consuming their wealth unjustly. Allah Almighty says: (O you who have believed, do not consume one another's wealth unjustly). The owner of the device must return the money gained from it to its owners or their heirs. If they cannot be found, then he must give it as charity on their behalf.
