Is it permissible for parents to prevent their son from marrying a girl because of her short stature, and what is the ruling on a Muslim woman marrying a Muslim man who does not belong to the misguided sects?

The meaning of the Hadith "A woman is married for four reasons..." is that people desire a woman for her beauty, or her wealth, or her lineage, or her religious devotion. The most fitting for people of integrity is that their focus should be on religious devotion. Therefore, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, urged marrying a woman of religious devotion. If the girl is of good character and religious devotion, her short stature does not detract from her worth, and the parents should not prevent their son from marrying her for this reason. As for the marriage of a Muslim girl to a Muslim man who is not an innovator, he should be pleasing in his religious devotion and character; as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If someone whose religious commitment and character you approve of proposes to your daughter, then marry her to him. If you do not do so, there will be tribulation on earth and widespread corruption." Scholars have interpreted compatibility in religion to mean that a dissolute or immoral person is not compatible with a chaste woman.
