Does the fasting of one who, out of forgetfulness, consumed hashish during a Ramadan day become invalidated? And what is the ruling on hashish?
Consuming cannabis is one of the gravest sins and most egregious abominations. The fast of one who consumes it is valid as long as they did not intentionally break their fast. So, whoever eats or drinks forgetfully should complete their fast, for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever forgets while he is fasting, and eats or drinks, let him complete his fast, for it was Allah who fed him and gave him drink." The consumption of unlawful things does not affect the validity of the fast. If a fasting person were to commit fornication, forgetting their fast, their fast would not be invalidated by that. Thus, anything that nullifies the fast, if done forgetfully, does not break the fast, with the exception of apostasy.
