What is the ruling on bathing for cooling purposes with water dedicated to mosques, or taking from it outside the mosque?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The basic principle is that water from the mosque should be used for the purpose designated by the endower (waqif). However, if there is an indication or a custom that suggests the endower permitted its removal from the mosque for a need, or for bathing to cool down, then there is no objection. Some scholars have explicitly stated that customary permission takes the place of verbal permission.
