Is it permissible for a divorced woman to seek a husband via the internet?

It is permissible to seek a righteous husband through lawful means, as some women did during the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and as Umar offered his daughter Hafsa for marriage. However, it is not permissible to seek a husband through the internet and social media due to their dangers and numerous religious prohibitions, and because they are dens for corrupt individuals. It is difficult to ascertain the truth of information there, and they may lead to corruption. The beneficial and guaranteed means for marriage are fearing Allah Almighty, relying on Him, and persistently supplicating, in addition to seeking through lawful means, and entrusting reliable individuals to search for a suitable partner.
