What is the religious ruling on disliking life and wishing for death while being content with Allah's decree? Is this commendable or reprehensible?

It is recommended to seek refuge from the trials of life and death, and the trials of this world, after the final Tashahhud in every prayer. The meaning of "trials of life and death" includes the tribulations a person may encounter during their life, and the trials they may face at the time of death and in the grave. Disliking this world is praiseworthy if it means asceticism regarding its fleeting pleasures and striving for what rectifies one's religion and the afterlife. However, it is not praiseworthy if it hinders a person from pursuing their worldly interests that aid them in their afterlife. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade wishing for death because if a believer is a good-doer, they might increase in good deeds, and if they are a wrongdoer, they might seek forgiveness and repent.
