Do the dead in their graves visit each other, feel each other, or see each other?

Yes, the meeting and visiting of the souls of believers has been established, as mentioned in hadiths and the fatwas of scholars. When a believer dies, their soul ascends and is welcomed by the souls of other believers with great joy, and they ask it about the affairs of the living. As for the souls of disbelievers, they do not meet.

Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah indicated that souls meet when a new soul arrives and question it, and that the one higher in rank can descend to the lower, but the lower cannot ascend to the higher. Souls gather with their differing ranks and visit each other, whether their graves are far apart or close together, because souls are "recruited soldiers; those of them who recognize one another become harmonious, and those who do not recognize one another differ."

Ibn al-Qayyim explained that souls are of two types: tormented, which are preoccupied with their torment, and blessed, which meet, visit, and remember each other, and each soul is with its companion who is like it in deeds. He mentioned that the souls of martyrs are alive with their Lord, meeting and rejoicing at the arrival of their brethren. As for the hadiths that state the visiting of the dead and the command to improve the shroud for this purpose, none of them are authentic.
