Can a brother meet his brother after his death in the life of Barzakh, recognize him, welcome him, and ask him about the state of the people of this world, based on a vision indicating that the dead await those who are coming?

The souls of believers meet in the Barzakh (interim realm), visit each other, and converse. They ask the newcomer about the conditions of the people in the worldly life. As for the tormented souls, they are preoccupied with their torment to visit each other. The meeting of souls is indicated by the hadith of Abu Hurairah concerning the reception of a believer's soul by other believing souls at the time of his death, and their questioning him. Likewise, Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah stated that when the souls of the living are taken, they meet with the souls of the dead, and the latter ask them about the living. Ibn al-Qayyim, in his book "Ar-Ruh" (The Soul), also pointed out that the souls in bliss meet, visit, and converse with each other. He adduced as proof Allah's saying about the martyrs: "They are alive with their Lord, receiving provision, rejoicing in what Allah has bestowed upon them of His bounty, and they are joyful over those who have not yet joined them from behind them," which indicates their meeting and mutual rejoicing.
