How does the soul visit the body in some cases in the grave?

The soul maintains a connection with the body after death, though it differs from the connection in this world. The soul departs from the body at death, but it sometimes returns to it by God's permission, as stated in the Hadith that the souls of believers are in Paradise and connect with the body whenever God wills. Some scholars have held that souls remain at the graves for seven days after burial, or that they are sent forth and go wherever they wish. As for the nature of this connection, it is part of the unseen, known only to God, just like the nature of the soul's connection with the body during life or sleep. It is similar to the state of a sleeper who feels pleasure and pain in their dream, and the deceased feels bliss or torment in their grave. This bliss and torment are real and more intense than what a sleeper feels. A Muslim should be content with what is mentioned in the sacred texts and not delve into the unseen with conjectures.
