Will a person who incurs exorbitant marriage expenses and debts to please family and traditions, despite not being convinced by them, be rewarded, given their ability to repay the debts?

Marriage is one of the great objectives of the religion. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, urged facilitating marriage and not exaggerating in dowries, saying: "Indeed, the most blessed marriage is that which is easiest in burden." Spending on one's family yields a greater reward than all charities if done for the sake of Allah, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A dinar you spend in the way of Allah, a dinar you spend in freeing a slave, a dinar you give in charity to a poor person, and a dinar you spend on your family – the one with the greatest reward is that which you spend on your family." Every expenditure a person makes on their family, intending thereby the face of Allah, will be rewarded for it, even that which he places in his wife's mouth. Likewise, spending on oneself is rewarded if the intention is to strengthen oneself for obedience and worship.
