The answer

A woman recognizes purity by one of two signs: dryness or the white discharge (al-qassah al-bayḍā’). If she sees purity by one of them, she must hasten to perform ghusl. The more cautious opinion is that it is not permissible to wait after seeing purity by dryness. If there is doubt about the attainment of purity, the default assumption is that it has not occurred, but one should not give in to obsessive whispers (wasāwis). If you are certain of purity, hasten to perform ghusl and pay no attention to the whispers. If you have become pure, you do not return to being a menstruating woman unless you are certain of seeing blood again. If you left any prayers while certain of purity, you must make them up.
