Is it permissible for one afflicted by obsessive doubts, who missed a prayer without a valid excuse, to make it up at leisure (on at-tarakhi) along with repentance, by analogy with the opinion of some Shafiis? And does the ruling differ if the missed prayer combines with the one that follows it, or if he deliberately delayed performing it during the narrow time for the purpose of making it up at leisure?

Abandoning prayer is one of the major sins, and it is not permissible to delay it beyond its appointed time.

Whoever is afflicted with abandoning it must perform sincere repentance and make it up immediately, according to the majority of scholars. If immediate making up is difficult for him, and he repents, then there is no harm in adopting the view of those who permit making up prayers at one's leisure.

The madhhab states that making up prayers is divided into: obligatory immediately (that which was sinned by delaying), and obligatory at one's leisure (that which was not sinned by delaying). There is also a view among the Shafi'is that making up prayers at one's leisure is permissible absolutely.

It is not permissible to intentionally abandon prayer under the pretext of making it up at one's leisure.
