Is it permissible to hold a second congregational prayer with a different imam?

The issue is establishing a second congregational prayer in the mosque. It is permissible to establish a second congregational prayer for someone who missed the prayer with the regular Imam. This is based on the Hadith of Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): "Will not a man donate to this one (charitably) and pray with him?" This is the view of many Companions and Successors, as well as Ahmad and Ishaq. Others disliked it, fearing disunity or that people of desires might use it as a pretext for delay. The correct view is the former, due to the Hadith and the general command to do what is possible in fearing Allah, while punishing those who deliberately delay due to their negligence. As for the Friday prayer, it is not repeated; whoever misses it should pray Dhuhr.
