Was the decision to abandon songs, dancing, and imitating unbelieving women in dress a hasty one, and is there evidence to confront those who mock this decision while floundering on the path of repentance?

What you did by abandoning and forsaking your past is the correct path, so praise Allah for the blessing of guidance. Stay away from bad company and replace it with righteous companionship that will help you do good, for Allah Almighty said: "And keep yourself patient with those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His countenance. And let not your eyes pass beyond them, desiring the adornments of the worldly life, and do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who has followed his desire and whose affair is ever [in] neglect." Avoid discussions with them for now, and frequently recite the Qur'an and perform remembrances, maintain prayers, and supplicate for steadfastness in religion and obedience to Allah.
