How did the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, deal with those who committed minor sins in his presence, and what are minor sins, with examples thereof?

The Prophet's, peace and blessings be upon him, approach to those who committed minor sins was characterized by the following: 1. Immediate practical action to remedy the sin and avert its danger, accompanied by gentle and clear speech. 2. Gentleness and leniency in teaching and explaining. 3. Dialogue and persuasion, far from harshness and reprimand. 4. Firmness and clarity in dealing with sins that cause hardship to people or affect society, without becoming angry at the wrongdoer himself. 5. Removing the sin by hand and offering clear advice, without seeking out the sinner to reprimand or punish them. 6. Offering advice through संकेत (implication) without naming individuals, so that concealment is more conducive to impact and wider benefit. 7. Addressing the sinner with words of encouragement or warning, as is the Quranic guidance.

This guidance, predominantly characterized by mercy, compassion, and gentleness, was adopted by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and the early righteous predecessors.
