What is the ruling on the one who says: "Am I speaking in vain?" to express that the other party does not understand his words?

We did not understand the speaker's connection between his words and Allah's saying: "He frowned and turned away." If he intended the meaning to be obscure, then he is mistaken. However, his words do not contain mockery of this meaning. One can consult the scholars of the country to understand the matter.
