What is the ruling on a mother giving money to her unemployed son, despite the opposition of her husband who has threatened not to forgive his wife if she does so?

The mother is not permitted to dispose of the father's money beyond what has been specified for her, unless the father withholds the obligatory maintenance from his son who is unable to earn a living. In that case, the mother may give him from his (the father's) money in a reasonable manner, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "The property of a Muslim person is not lawful without his willing consent," and the Hadith of Hind bint Utbah.
