Is it permissible to take out a loan from a bank to pay off a personal debt after failing in business?

It is permissible to borrow from non-usurious Islamic banks, but not from usurious banks. The creditor should grant respite to the debtor who is in hardship, and it is better if he remits the debt as charity. Marriage is a cause of wealth and assistance. Be diligent in prayer and supplication during times of answered prayers, give charity, fear Allah in all your affairs, and lower your gaze from women. There are also reported supplications for settling debts, including: "O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful against Your unlawful, and enrich me with Your bounty, beyond need of anyone but You," and "O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens... settle our debts for us and enrich us from poverty," and "O Allah, Owner of all sovereignty... have mercy on me, a mercy by which You make me independent of the mercy of anyone but You."
