Why did Allah, the Exalted, specifically mention birds in His saying: "And the flesh of fowl from what they desire"?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Allah honors the people of Paradise with whatever meats and other foods they desire, as Allah Almighty says: "And for you therein is whatever your souls desire, and for you therein is whatever you ask" [Fussilat: 31], and His saying: "Circulated among them will be plates of gold and cups, and therein is whatever souls desire and eyes find delight, and you will abide therein eternally" [Az-Zukhruf: 71]. Allah Almighty also mentioned that He will honor them with meat, without restricting its type, saying: "And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire" [At-Tur: 22], and He specifically mentioned bird meat in another verse.
