What is the wisdom behind prioritizing the husbands' fathers over the women's sons in the analysis of displaying adornment, according to the order in the verse: "And let them not display their adornment except to their husbands or their fathers or their husbands' fathers or their sons or their husbands' sons or their brothers or their brothers' sons or their sisters' sons or their women or what their right hands possess or the male attendants having no physical inclination or the children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women"?

Allah commanded believing women to conceal their adornment except from specific exceptions mentioned in the verse (An-Nur/31). Allah Almighty presented "husbands" first because their viewing extends to more than just adornment. Then, He followed with the maharim (unmarriageable kin), from whom temptation is secure, due to their need for interaction, the low expectation of temptation from them, the natural aversion to sexual relations with relatives, and a woman's need for their companionship during travels. Although it is permissible for these maharim to see inner adornment, they are not equal in what they are allowed to see. For the husband, he may look at whatever he desires. For the son, brother, and every mahram, they may see the hair, neck, shins, and arms. As for men who are without sexual desire (ghair uli al-irbah), it is permissible for a woman to appear before them in thick clothing. Scholars have not mentioned a wisdom behind the order of the maharim mentioned in the verse.
