What is the ruling of Islamic law concerning a mother who discriminates among her children in giving gifts and in treatment, severs ties with her daughter, and refuses to be just between them, despite knowing that it is obligatory?

It is permissible to demand rights from one's mother, while still maintaining proper etiquette and filial piety towards her. Her mistake does not justify your mistake in dealing with her. Allah will not neglect your right, neither in this world nor in the Hereafter. Patience, forgiveness, and benevolence are recommended, as is resorting to Allah Almighty through supplication, for the keys to relief are in His hand, and He has promised to answer those who call upon Him.
