What are the "ends of the earth" mentioned in the verse "We come to the earth, reducing it from its ends," and do the verses that describe the earth as flat, such as "And after that He spread the earth" and "And the earth We have spread out," contradict the verses that indicate the earth's sphericity?

Scholars have reached a consensus on the spherical shape of the Earth, and this is indicated by the Almighty’s saying: (He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night) Az-Zumar/5. From the observers' perspective, it appears flat due to its immense size. The Permanent Committee for Issuing Fatwas stated: "The Earth is spherical as a whole, but flat in parts." Ibn Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy on him, said that the Almighty’s saying: (And to the Earth how it is spread out?) Al-Ghashiyah/20 does not contradict its spherical shape; rather, it is spherical yet flattened.

As for the Almighty’s saying: (Have they not seen that We set upon the land, reducing it from its borders? And Allah decides; there is no revoker of His decree. And He is swift in account) Ar-Ra’d/41, and His saying: (Do they not see that We set upon the land, reducing it from its borders? Then, are they the predominant ones?) Al-Anbiya/44, scholars have differed in their interpretation of this reduction.
