Do worry and sorrow due to exams, as well as sadness over low grades without despair, fall under the general meaning of the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "No fatigue, nor illness, nor anxiety, nor sorrow, nor harm, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were a thorn that pricks him, but Allah expiates some of his sins by it," and Allah Almighty’s saying: "Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account"?

Worries and calamities expiate a Muslim's sins, elevate their ranks, and increase their good deeds, as stated in the Prophetic traditions. If a Muslim endures with patience and does not despair, and praises Allah and says "Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rājiʿūn" (To Allah we belong and to Him is our return), then they will be rewarded for that. They will be included in Allah's promise that "the patient will be given their reward without reckoning."
