Is it permissible to draw animate beings in full, while covering a part of the body without which life cannot endure, such as the belly or the lower half, with a sheet or an abaya? Or is drawing only the upper half of a person leaning on a fence permissible?

The fatwa mentioned that drawing some parts of a picture, such as the head, neck, or body without the head, is permissible, unlike drawing a complete human figure and then covering half of it, which apparently is not permissible. Some scholars hold that a picture of a head is not permissible if its features are clear. Sheikh Ibn Baz believes that if a picture is cut at the bottom, leaving only the head, it is not permissible because the face remains.
