Is a person held accountable for listening to music against their will in public places if they tried not to enjoy it, but that might sometimes happen?

The difference between one who listens to singing and one who hears it is that the listener intends it and is pleased with it, whereas the hearer is reached by the sound without intention or will. For this reason, commands and prohibitions are related to intentional listening, not to mere hearing that occurs without one's choice. If singing is in a place where one is sitting, one must denounce it to the best of one's ability; if unable, then with one's heart, while leaving the place of the reprehensible act.
