Is it permissible to marry a committed young man who proposed to me, but my family refused him, and I fear falling into sin, especially since I am 25 years old and my father refuses to marry me off before I complete my studies?

Relationships between young men and women in the name of love are not sanctioned by Islamic law; marriage is the ideal solution. A girl should discuss the matter with her father or find an intermediary to speak with him about accepting a righteous and suitable young man, as studies are not an impediment to marriage. If the father agrees, then praise be to Allah. If he refuses, she must be patient, entrust the matter to Allah, and turn away from the young man, for Allah may compensate her with someone better than him.
