If the intention is accompanied by a verbal commitment, it is a vow that must be fulfilled, and its proceeds should be given to all the poor and needy. One should not partake of it unless it is customary to do so. The slaughterer should not take from it unless he is poor. However, if it is merely an intention without utterance, it is not considered a vow and does not have to be fulfilled.
