What is the ruling on a husband taunting his sick wife about spending money on her treatment and repeating that every time there is a problem?

The husband is not obligated to bear the expenses of his wife's medical treatment. However, it is an act of kindness and good companionship to do so, and he will be rewarded for it. He must be careful not to invalidate his reward by reminding his wife of what he has provided for her, as reminding recipients of one's charity nullifies good deeds and is warned against in Islamic law.
