Do my questions about God's non-intervention to protect the poor, and the wisdom behind it, fall under what Imam al-Tahawi warned against, and make me one of the disbelievers, as stated in His saying: "He is not questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned"?

The statement by Imam al-Tahawi, "Whoever asks 'Why did He do that?' has rejected the ruling of the Book, and whoever rejects the ruling of the Book is among the disbelievers," means whoever asks out of objection to Allah's decree and disputes it. The foundation of servitude and faith is built upon submission and not questioning the detailed wisdom behind commands and prohibitions. The righteous predecessors did not ask the Prophet, peace be upon him, "Why did Allah command such and such?" because they knew that doing so was contrary to faith. Questioning with the intention of learning and seeking knowledge is permissible, but questioning out of stubbornness is not allowed. And it is a sign of a person's good Islam that he leaves alone what does not concern him. The excommunication of one who rejects the ruling of the Book is beyond doubt, but one who misinterprets the ruling of the Book due to a misconception should be shown the correct view. Allah, the Exalted, is not to be questioned about what He does, due to His perfect wisdom, mercy, and justice.
