Is it true that among the tribulations of the grave is the formation of two devils in the image of the parents, who say: "We followed Judaism and Christianity, so Allah admitted us to Paradise"? And is this before Munkar and Nakir descend?

There is no evidence from the Qur'an or Sunnah to support the claim that religions are presented to the dying person; rather, it is one of the sayings of some scholars and falls under the category of "trials of life" at the time of death. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah affirms that the presentation of religions at the time of death is not general, and at the time of death, Satan is most eager to mislead. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sought refuge from "the trials of life and death," and it is recommended for the worshipper to seek refuge from them.

Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen defines "trials of life" as testing a person in their religion, revolving around misconceptions (confusion of truth with falsehood) and desires (wanting forbidden things).

As for "trials of death," scholars have differed on two opinions: 1. The questioning of the two angels in the grave about his Lord, his religion, and his Prophet. 2. What occurs at the time of death in the final moments of life, which is a great trial because Satan is most eager to mislead at this critical moment, and he may present religions to a person in the form of their parents or otherwise.

The correct view is that it encompasses both matters: the trial at the time of death and the trial after death (the questioning of the two angels), due to their importance and gravity.
