Is a female reciter of the Quran rewarded if she does not understand its meanings, and what is the solution to help her understand the Quran?

It is sunnah (recommended) to recite the Quran with deliberation and understanding, for the greatest purpose behind the revelation of the Quran is comprehension and reflection. Through it, breasts are expanded, and hearts are enlightened, as Allah Almighty says: "A Book which We have sent down to you, full of blessings, that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember." (38:29), and His saying, glory be to Him: "Do they not then ponder on the Quran, or are there locks on their hearts?" (47:24).

Pondering over the Quran means reflecting on the meanings of its words and verses, contemplating the commands and prohibitions, the stories and parables, and taking heed from everything within it. Every Muslim is required to ponder over the Quran to the extent of their ability and capacity. Whoever misses out on pondering has missed out on a great reward and a significant benefit, but the reward for its recitation does not escape them, and they are rewarded for it.

Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned in Zad al-Ma'ad that the reward for reading with slow, rhythmic recitation (tartīl) and pondering is more noble and of a higher caliber, while the reward for frequent recitation is greater in number. The former is like someone who gives a great jewel in charity, and the latter is like someone who gives a large number of dirhams in charity.
