Is a Muslim rewarded for listening to the Quran without understanding its meaning, or is the reward limited to those who comprehend what they hear?

This brings them good in this world and the hereafter. The righteous predecessors used to gather to listen to the Qur'an. A Muslim should strive to understand the meanings of the Qur'an to the best of their ability. One who recites the Qur'an is rewarded, whether they understand its meanings or not, but they must be keen to understand them and act upon what they contain.
