How is the estate of a man who died leaving 120,000 dirhams, with 4 daughters, 4 sons, and a wife, to be distributed?

The inheritance is divided according to two verses from the Book of Allah: the first is His saying concerning the wife's inheritance: (But if you have a child, then for them [the wives] is one eighth of what you leave); and the second is His saying concerning the children's inheritance: (Allah instructs you concerning your children: for the male, what is equal to the share of two females).

Accordingly, the wife receives one-eighth of the inheritance, and the remainder goes to the sons and daughters, with the male receiving a share equal to that of two females.

Example of dividing an inheritance of 120,000 Dirhams: - For the wife: 15,000 Dirhams (one-eighth). - For the sons (4 males): 70,000 Dirhams (the share of one male is 17,500 Dirhams). - For the daughters (4 females): 35,000 Dirhams (the share of one female is 8,750 Dirhams).
