Is it permissible for a father to marry the sister of his son's wife?

It is forbidden for a man to marry his son's wife once the marriage contract is concluded, based on the Almighty's saying: "And the wives of your sons who are from your own loins." However, it is permissible for him to marry the mother of his son's wife, or her sister, or her daughter from another man; based on the Almighty's saying: "And lawful for you are [all others] beyond these, provided that you seek them with your property, [desiring] chastity, not unlawful sexual intercourse." Therefore, there is nothing in Islamic law that prevents a father from marrying his son's wife's sister.
