What is the minimum number of times a couple should have intercourse, and at what point is a man considered sexually abnormal?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

A husband's intercourse with his wife is not limited to a specific duration. Rather, it depends on the wife's desire, and the husband's ability and vigor. The natural frequency of intercourse cannot be precisely determined. However, if the husband's desire intensifies and exceeds the moderate limit to a pathological one, this is called satyriasis, which is a pathological condition characterized by intense sexual desire, frequent demands for intercourse, and distress if it does not occur.

Frequent intercourse, within a moderate limit, is a praiseworthy quality. The proof for this is the narration by Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would go around to all his wives in a single night, and at that time he had nine wives. This indicates the perfection of his manhood, peace and blessings be upon him.
