Is informing the relatives and friends of the deceased of his death so that they may gather to pray for him considered part of the forbidden lamentation (an-na'i) or is it permissible?
Announcing a death with the intention of informing people about it so that more people can pray over the deceased is permissible, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did it. However, announcing a death after the burial is not prescribed and is forbidden.
