What are the manners that a pilgrim (Hajj) or an Umrah performer should observe?

The servant should perform the rituals of Hajj out of reverence, glorification, love, and submission to Allah, with tranquility and dignity, and in emulation of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. These feelings should be occupied with dhikr (remembrance), takbir (exaltation), tasbih (glorification), tahmid (praise), and istighfar (seeking forgiveness). Hajj is an act of worship, not an outing for amusement and play. The pilgrim must maintain congregational prayers, enjoin good and forbid evil, and be keen on benefiting Muslims, showing kindness to them, and having mercy on their weak. He must also avoid obscenity, wickedness, disobedience, and argumentation unless it is for the support of truth. He should avoid assaulting creation and harming them through backbiting, slandering, insulting, looking at non-mahram women, and avoid speech unfitting for the sacred rituals, such as reviling the Jamarat.
