Is it legislated for me to perform an 'Aqiqah for my deceased father who did not perform an 'Aqiqah for himself?

"Aqiqah" (the ritual animal sacrifice upon the birth of a child) is not prescribed for a deceased father. One who has reached adulthood is not subject to Aqiqah. The Aqiqah is performed for the newborn on their seventh day. If the father was unable to perform it due to financial hardship, he could do so on the fourteenth or twenty-first day, or any subsequent day. As for the deceased, Aqiqah is not performed for them. However, one should pray for their mercy and forgiveness. It is also permissible to give charity on their behalf, the reward of which will reach them by scholarly consensus.
