Is the questioner considered disobedient to her father, who accuses her of negligence and disobedience for not fulfilling all his demands, bearing in mind that he is negligent in his duties towards her and her family, and she is the one who provides for them, and is she wrong in responding to him sometimes when he scolds her or her siblings for illogical reasons?

Obedience to parents is obligatory if it benefits them and does not harm the child. The child must obey their father and fulfill his requests, even if difficult, unless there is a fear of harm. The father should not be treated in kind; showing dutifulness to him is obligatory even if he misbehaves. Dutifulness to parents and treating them kindly are among the greatest means to Allah's pleasure and entry into Paradise, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The Lord's pleasure is in the parent's pleasure, and the Lord's displeasure is in the parent's displeasure," and "The father is the middle gate of Paradise." It is advisable to advise the father gently and strive to reconcile him with the mother, seeking assistance from close relatives.
